Learn to Sew A Bestie Bag

Join Ali for the day in this fun and creative workshop.  You'll make the Bestie Bag, a crossbody carry all companion, a favourite in the sewing community.  In a relaxed and friendly environment you'll be guided step by step through the construction of the bag, adding a lining and inserting your zip.  
 
This course is designed for confident beginners who are familiar with using a sewing machine and want to develop their sewing skills.  You'll leave with a cute new Bestie Bag sidekick, the skills and confidence to continue your sewing journey.
 
By the end of the class, you will be able to:
Follow and interpret a commercial sewing pattern.
Construct and finish pockets neatly.
Gain confidence inserting a zip.
Learn layering, reinforcement, and edge-finishing techniques.
Assemble and topstitch your bag for a professional finish.
Pick up troubleshooting skills for future projects.

* Fabric bundles are available to purchase which will include everything that you need to make your Bestie Bag.
 
Venue
Orchards is my home in Langford Budville, just outside of Wellington.  The workshop will be held in my spacious kitchen which is light and bright with gorgeous views.  There is plenty of parking just outside, please be aware that there are a few steps up to the front door.
Two small, friendly dogs live here too, after giving you a noisy welcome they will soon return to their fave hobby of snoozing!  They can be shut away on request.
 
Cancellations
Life happens, if you need to cancel please let me know at least 7 days in advance, if you can, and you'll receive a full refund.  Cancellations made 3–6 days before will receive a 50% refund or a 75% refund if I can fill your place.  Unfortunately, cancellations within 48 hours can’t be refunded.
If you are unable to make it and would like to transfer your spot to a friend please let me know in advance.
If we ever need to cancel a workshop due to low participant uptake, illness or venue issues, you’ll receive a full refund or the option to join a future class.
